Mechanical Drive Components, Inc., is an ISO 9000 and AS9100 registered production CNC machine shop featuring engineering and design services, CNC turning and machining capabilities, as well as finished part assembly. We offer the added capability of producing mechanical drive surfaces such as od splines, turned polygons, and face gears. With these varied in-house capabilities, we are able to provide our customers with a full service option; taking their parts from conception, through design, manufacturing, and assembly.
MDC was incorporated on July 1, 1999. Our production facility began operation in January of 2000. Also in 2000, we became a member of the National Tooling & Machine Association. We have grown steadily since we began operations, expanding our facilities in 2001 and achieving an average growth of 50% per year for the first several years. In 2003 we added a full second shift to our manufacturing operations in order maintain our pace of growth with our existing assets. Our business has grown equally from increased business from existing customers as well as through the addition of new customers. As our business has matured, we have focused on controlling our pace of growth in order to maintain the highest levels of customer service and part quality, typically exceeding our customers expectations in these critical categories. By maintaining these core values, we expect to continue to grow at our current pace for the next several years.
We are capable of turning parts between centers of up to 17”, with an 8” maximum outside diameter. Our horizontal machining center has a 32 tool carousel and a 400mm, 2 – pallet changer. This allows us to machine complex geometries, from multiple angles. The pallet system allows us to quickly change from job to job, meeting customer needs quickly and efficiently. We are able to machine parts up to 25" x 16" x 24" in our vertical machining centers.
Our Wera Profilators allows us to produce high precision OD splines, face gears and castelations, and a variety of polygon shapes. We have extensive experience in machining aluminum, titanium, stainless steels, alloy steels, tool steels, a variety of plastics, copper, brass and bronze.
All machining and turning is programmed using the latest software.
